Dreaming of the country

I'm missing holidays with my mummy. Staying at my Poppy & Oma's place. Sun baking in the country air.

A thank you cupcake!

We would like to thank everyone who offered their support on Saturday, what would have been Jasmine's birthday. The outpouring of love and support that was shown from our beautiful friends was very comforting.

We love that so many people understand how much she means to us. To say thank you, here is a Dachshund Cupcake (made from a Long Dog Recipe!)!

Everyone loves to cuddle when it's cold

I miss J every day.

I miss her especially now that it's cold. I miss cuddling up to her and her keeping me warm.

RIP Jasmine - "Just a dog"

People have told me, 'lighten up, it's just a dog,' or, 'that's a lot of money for just a dog'. They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for 'just a dog'.

Some of my proudest moments have come about with 'just a dog'. Many hours have passed and my only company was 'just a dog', but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by 'just a dog', and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of 'just a dog' gave me comfort and reason to overcome the dark.

Those who think it's 'just a dog', probably also use phrases like 'just a friend', 'just a sunrise', or 'just a promise'. 'Just a dog' brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy. 'Just a dog' brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person.

Because of 'just a dog' I rise early, take long walks, and look longingly to the future. So for me and people like me, it's not 'just a dog' but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

'Just a dog' brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday others have the opportunity to understand that it's not 'just a dog' but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being 'just a woman'.

So the next time you hear the phrase 'just a dog', smile. You are one of the blessed few who understands.
RIP Jasmine - 14/05/98 - 17/12/10

Wearing Daddy's clothes

I like to model some of my favourite pieces from Daddy's wardrobe.

When it's cold I like to wear this lovely blue jumper.

When the light has been left on and I just want to get some sleep I wear Daddy's shorts....on my head.

Silly sausage

Why lay on your bed when you can flip it onto your back and wear it?!
